There are several threads on here that address the issue in differing terms, so I am going to attempt to consolidate some of the info and hope that isn't a board faux pas.ġ) Opening the task manager and closing the "soffice" bin may work temporarily. I am not sure of the protocol on a "solved" issue, but it appears that this thread is closest to the crux of the issue, which seems to be a problem with the latest Win10 update. At least they provided an "uninstall" function without which life would have been much more difficult. My days of guddling about in machine code are well in the past so I'll leave the resolution to Microsoft or at least someone else. Please note - the installation and the removal take a long time to complete (in excess of 1 hour on a 64 bit 8GB dual processor machine) often with little or no sign of activity. All the functions and applictions are now once again working so with some basic functions going west, the problem would appear to be with the windows update and not just its relationship to Open Office. The USB attached wireless mouse however continued to work. These functions are unconnected to Open Office. ![]() ![]() The print functions of other applications also failed to work and the O/S failed to recognise USB plug-in memory sticks and the plug-in SD card. On further investigation, the problem was wider than Open Office.
